Mistaking Correlation for Causation

You pay complete attention to the world and you indulge it, moving from one condition to another condition. Flowing like a stream, you have become directionless, no longer focused in the recognition of the Source.
The outcome is confusion, a misdirectedness, looking in the wrong direction. So you pursue a state of timelessness, but you ignore the fact that nothing can happen except in the field of time. Outside of time, nothing ever happens.
Shankara had only four students and that was four too many.
Drop your demand for a ‘how’. Understand that the Self is Self-Revealing. No other agency, teacher, practice or method can effect Self-revelation.
The commercial teachers will teach whatever is fashionable. They’ll provide numerous techniques that produce a further burden which, at their end, don’t in any way lighten the load.
The rare, authentic teachers will teach the method that appeared to work for them. However, they too have fallen victim to mistaking correlation for causation.

Misdirection

You pay complete attention to the world and you indulge it, moving from one condition to another condition. Flowing like a stream, you have become directionless, no longer focused in the recognition of the Source.

No Instruction, Teaching or Practice

To know that you are doesn’t need any instruction, teaching or practice. Because of this ‘I am’ knowledge, everything else can subsequently be.
The love to be, the love of Conscious Being, is manifested in every living organism through its impulse to survive, to continue. Yet, that which has being is inexorably racing back to what is prior to being.
The daily arising of the sense of being is immediately following by the arising of the sense of being ‘this’. Individuality has arisen.
You are so used to mistaking the means for looking for that which is looking. It has become your default pose.
Data is coming in from sensory sources and mental sources. For each, there is receiving, recording and reacting.
You attribute it all to ‘you’. Yet, in reality, ‘you’ isn’t doing anything. All this is happening spontaneously in the psychosomatic structure with which there has been the identification labeled ‘you’.

The Great Myth

The goal of all practice is exactly the same, to become something other than what you presently are.
How many Buddhas, how many Ramanas, have been produced through practice?
Like unique flowers that appear spontaneously, a Buddha or a Ramana cannot be reproduced by any means.
The Great Myth is that there is a Way.
All systems and methods for obtaining enlightenment are non-sense. There is no Way, no oasis, only a mirage comprised of beaten tracks that have failed to produce desired results. It’s useless activity, like an immortal preparing his Last Will.
How can anyone cause what is obviously acausal? Be what you are. What more need you be?
